Choosing A Charcoal Grill
No matter the season or the reason, grilling is an American tradition. Grilling in the backyard with friends and family is a great way to celebrate birthdays, holidays, or the win of a favorite football team. On the market today there are endless choices of grills, but the most traditional and original is a charcoal grill. The smoky aroma from the charcoal or wood chips will make mouths water the minute the grill is lit and the food is sizzling.

When choosing a charcoal grill, one will find that there are numerous types, sizes, and shapes. From barrels to kettles, charcoal grills are actually inexpensive to purchase compared to gas grills. Upon deciding what size and shape of grill will be needed, the next thing will be to choose either briquettes or wood chips fro cooking the food.

Since a charcoal grill can also work as a smoker, wood chips can be used alone or in addition to briquettes to enhance any food from salmon to pork with a warm smoky flavor. They can also be burnt down and used as charcoals for future uses. Most commonly in charcoal grilling are briquettes. Since they are easy to ignite, it saves time during cooking.

The advantages of using charcoal grills are that they are inexpensive, and they add a lot of flavor to the food. Some disadvantages are that they can be quite messy and hard to ignite. Charcoal grilling can be time consuming and a bit of a hassle, but with a little patience and learned skill, the food will taste incredible.
